Local Boxing Coach Loubna Agudelo Shares Inspiring Memoir
“For Liyana, I Fight”
A Story of Love, Loss, and Resilience

February 16, 2026, Norwalk, CT: Born and raised in Morocco, sports have always been part of Loubna Agudelo’s life. After moving to Paris with her sister to study, she came to the United States in 2005, carrying with her a lifelong passion for sports and teaching.

In 2014, Loubna married her husband, Camilo. After enduring five miscarriages, she became pregnant with twins. In 2018, she gave birth to Liyana and Lina. The pregnancy showed no signs of complication until delivery, when the twins—who were sharing the same sac—suffered a stroke during childbirth. Liyana did not survive. Lina was born with a cyst on the right side of her brain. Doctors warned that she would face significant challenges, but through the grace of God, today, Lina is healthy and thriving.

In the depths of unimaginable grief, Loubna turned her attention to boxing. What began as a physical outlet became a lifeline. Fitness had always grounded her—first as a track runner, then a swimmer, and later through kickboxing and boxing. In her darkest hours, the discipline and intensity of the sport gave her a way to release pain, rebuild strength, and keep moving forward.

Her memoir, For Liyana, I Fight, is a raw and powerful reflection on love, loss, and resilience. Written in an intimate short-story format, Loubna shares her journey through grief and how boxing helped her reclaim her power. It is a testament to the healing strength of movement and the unbreakable bond between mother and child.

Today, Loubna is a devoted mother of twins—one who lives in her heart, and one she holds every day. The loss of her daughter reshaped her understanding of strength, gratitude, and purpose. As a boxing and kickboxing coach, Loubna believes movement is more than physical; it is emotional, mental, and spiritual. Her mission is to help others feel strong, confident, and alive in their bodies, no matter where they begin or what they are going through.

“This is who I am — a fighter, a mother, a coach, and a woman who believes that life is still beautiful, and always worth fighting for.”
